Not dull around here today!

10 Feb

Yes!  I finally got my hair cut today.   Here is how it went down.

Got a hair cut before Thanksgiving.  (Remember, average hair grows 1/2 inch per month, so by eight weeks I started to feel very grown out.  No, not “grown up!”)  By week eight, I should have scheduled an appointment to get my locks trimmed, but  put it on my to-do list and then didn’t get to it that week.  Week 9-10 rolled around and I was just avoiding looking at my hair.  Last week I desperately tried to think of a time that I could head to the salon minus four munchkins, which narrowed things down considerably.   I called my stylist, crossing my fingers she could get me in on Saturday, which was two days away.  (I should know better than this…..she is good and will of course be booked out at least a week.)  Yay, she can got me in on Thursday, and the hubs had it off, so I booked the 11 o’clock appointment.   I woke up today and had .o2 seconds to do my hair. I pulled it back into a ponytail with a headband and it actually looked cute.    What?  Your hair will turn out great the day before and/or the day of a haircut.  Seriously.  Every day should be a haircut day! By the way, do you like my color?  My husband is taking appointments.

Speaking of haircuts, this little half pint needs one, but I am grasping for ideas of what to do with her hair.  I think the problem came when I tried cutting her bangs on an angle  four months ago.  That front section has been giving me grief ever since.  See how it grows from her crown down????  See how stinking cute she is anyway??? (Ignore water spill on shirt.)

I love those hats and flowers though, and they have saved us from having some serious bad hair days over here.  I got this combo at Hobby Lobby.  About every three weeks they have a 40% off coupon, making this fashionable accessory under $10!

I can’t tell you how excited I am that you finally have a blog (and a very snazzy one I might add). I can’t wait to be able to keep better tabs and hopefully better contact with you guys. I just gave G his first hair cut last week and I was wishing you were around to give me pointers. Miss you tons!

It will be nice to keep tabs on you and your families hair. I am going to put up the video just for you ASAP! How did G’s first haircut go? I bet he looks handsome as ever! I was trying to grow out our G’s hair, but then decided to cut it and there is nothing like a fresh haircut on a little boy. LOVE IT. They look so debonair. MIss you too and hope we can hook up in Utah again SOON!

Ruth! So great to see your face again. Love your haircut. Fun to see pics of you with long hair too! Kandice and I were lamenting not having you in each of our respective towns as we could both use your awesome skills. Miss you…I hear of your goings-on through Sarah. Sounds like she’d love to have you in Dayton with her. 🙂

Hey! I love looking at your blog too and seeing all of your goings on. It sounds like you are settled in Montana and enjoying life! You all have the best hair, so no lamenting at all from you!!!! Wish you could take our family photo. We need an update!

Ahhh Ruth!! So good to see you and your family. It’s been forever! Thanks for sending me your site! I loved our time together down in your basement. I’m trying to grow my hair out and it’s torture! I figure I’ve had the “stacked” cut forever and it’s time for a change.

    • Ruth 12. Feb, 2011 at 12:59 pm #

Katherine!!!! What is up with you all??? Where are you at these days? (I am such a slacker at keeping up, sorry. I am going to do better!)
You’re in the grow-out phase huh. Good luck and hang in there! I was in the same boat until two days ago when I went in for a trim. Couldn’t stand the back so now I am shorter than ever. My advice, avoid going in for a “trim!”

AHH! Ruthie! I’m so excited about the blog – and the hair ideas. Your hair, as always, is gorguois and tell Kendell I am super impressed by his mad hair-coloring skills! You guys are so lucky – you’ll always have great hair and great teeth. ;0)

Thank you THANK YOU for the “shout out” about my website! It was shut-down for a while. I was having a hard time being motivated after the move, but its up and running now – lots of fun, new ideas too.

Love you so much! Miss your guts so much it hurts. Give yourself and your kiddos a squish from me! Tell Kendell happy late birthday. 🙂
